Gyokuro Green Loose Leaf Tea
Shading the tea plant three weeks before it is hand cut with scissors produces its characteristic long, slender, dark green leaves. Tea Vue’s prized Gyokuro Green loose leaf tea consists of only the most tender leaf tips — we are delighted to offer this season’s recent hand-pickings. Gyokuro may also be referenced as Gyokuro Asahina — brewing results in a beautiful greenish-gold color with a mild flavor and unparalleled floral aroma.
Our Gyokuro Green tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a boil and then allowed to cool for 2 minutes (160-170° F) before pouring over the leaves to steep. Using one rounded teaspoon of Gyokuro Green tea for each cup required, pour the water over the tea leaves. Steep for 2 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping.
